Bull Leasing Services is a family owned and operated farm, serving the Waikato’s dairy farmers since around 1975. Originally started by Ron Shewan on a farm near Morrinsville, Bull Leasing Services Ltd was the first bull leasing business in New Zealand.
Ron’s daughter Kay Wolfe and her husband Roger Wolfe followed in his footsteps and built the business up to become the largest bull leasing business in New Zealand.
Following Kay’s passing in 2010, Roger and their children Gavin, Kelly and Shane have downsized the business to become solely family operated, and are now based on a farm near Naike, 25 minutes west of Huntly.
We lease out bulls from a range of breeds including Jerseys, Friesians, Angus, Herefords and Murray Greys, to dairy farmers throughout the Waikato and beyond. With extensive experience in matching farmers with bulls to suit their individual needs, the Wolfe family works year-round to provide well conformed, easy to handle and healthy bulls.
Outside of the farm, the Wolfe family is very involved in the community with Gavin and Shane both volunteering with the Te Akau Rural Fire Brigade, Kelly helping to run a dog rescue saving 200+ dogs from the pound and other difficult situations each year and fostering as time allows, and Bull Leasing regularly supporting the Westpac Helicopter and the North Waikato Young Farmers Club.
